AI Text Watermark Remover

A free, private AI text watermark remover. Paste your text, press clean, and every invisible Unicode character that was riding along inside it is gone, with a report telling you exactly what came out.

How does this AI text watermark remover work?

Paste your text and press Clean. The AI text watermark remover scans every codepoint, deletes the invisible carriers, and normalises homoglyph spaces back to ordinary spaces — without rewriting, paraphrasing or reordering a single visible word.

  • One click, no sign-up, no usage limits for normal use.
  • Returns a full report of every codepoint removed.
  • Also strips C2PA, EXIF and XMP provenance metadata from files.

What the remover strips out

Text that has passed through an AI tool or a publishing pipeline often carries characters you never typed. They occupy no visual space, so proofreading will never catch them, but they are present in the bytes and they survive every ordinary copy and paste. Here is what the remover handles.

Why use this remover rather than a find-and-replace

You can remove one zero-width space in a text editor if you know its codepoint and your editor lets you search by it. That approach breaks down quickly: there are dozens of candidate codepoints across several Unicode blocks, some editors silently normalize them on save, and a manual pass gives you no evidence of what you found. This remover checks the full set in a single pass and hands back a report you can audit.

Inspect before you clean

The Inspect only mode is deliberately separate. It shows you what is in the text without modifying anything. That is useful when you want to understand whether a document was watermarked at all, or when you need to document the finding before altering the file.

Nothing is stored

Text and files are held in memory for the length of the request and then dropped. There is no database, no object storage, no content logging and no third-party analytics on your input. See the privacy page for the details.

Limits worth knowing

  • It removes hidden characters and metadata. It does not defeat statistical AI detectors, which analyze writing style and are unaffected by invisible codepoints.
  • Some PDFs embed provenance deep in object streams; the tool removes what it can parse and reports what it could not.
  • Re-encoding an image elsewhere after cleaning can reintroduce metadata from that other tool. Clean last, publish immediately.

Frequently asked questions

What does an AI text watermark remover do?

An AI text watermark remover scans text codepoint by codepoint and deletes characters that carry hidden information without rendering anything on screen: zero-width spaces and joiners, word joiners, bidirectional controls, variation selectors and Unicode tag characters. It also normalizes lookalike whitespace, such as non-breaking and narrow spaces, back to a plain space.

Is this AI text watermark remover free to use?

Yes, completely. There is no account, no trial, no watermark on the output and no usage cap for normal use. Uploaded files are limited to 25 MiB each.

Does the remover work on text copied from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?

Yes. The tool is model-agnostic: it inspects the actual characters in the text rather than guessing which assistant produced it, so it works identically on output pasted from any AI chat interface, browser extension or API response.

Will the remover change my writing?

No. It never paraphrases, reorders or rewrites. Only characters with no visible glyph are deleted, and only lookalike spaces are normalized, so the text you see before and after is identical.

How do I know the watermark was actually removed?

Every clean returns a report showing how many characters were removed and replaced, and the before and after length. Run Inspect only on the cleaned output and it should come back with zero suspicious characters.

Can I use the remover on images and PDFs too?

Yes. Switch to the Files tab and upload a PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, DOCX, ODT, HTML or Markdown file. The tool strips C2PA manifests, EXIF and XMP metadata and AI-generator markers, then returns a cleaned copy to download.
